Here we share updates on current projects, technical events, presentations and developments in materials engineering, corrosion, failure analysis and predictive maintenance.

MPC² at the Technical Showcase at Nitrogen & Syngas 2026

MPC² will participate in a Technical Showcase at Nitrogen & Syngas 2026 in Barcelona.
On 10 February 2026 from 3:15 to 3:30 PM, Manuel Prohaska (CEO, MPC²) will present a new high-pressure / high-temperature autoclave test system designed specifically for corrosion testing under real process conditions.

The presentation entitled
“A New High-Pressure & High-Temperature Autoclave for Corrosion Testing under Real Process Conditions”
demonstrates how high pressure, high temperature, controlled process chemistry and electrochemical measurement techniques can be combined to realistically assess material performance and passivation stability in demanding industrial environments.

The Technical Showcase addresses licensors, plant operators and manufacturers of critical process equipment dealing with corrosion challenges, material selection and plant reliability in the ammonia, urea and syngas industries.

We warmly invite all interested participants to attend the presentation and engage in technical discussion.

Funding & Awards 2025

In 2025, MPC² received support and recognition through several national funding programs, including aws Seed Financing and the FFG COMET program.

Within the COMET project “We3D²”, MPC² participates as an industry partner and is responsible for the corrosion testing of WAAM-manufactured specimens produced by other consortium members. In addition, MPC² received investment grants from SFG to further expand its laboratory and testing infrastructure.

Further details on funded projects and awards will be added on an ongoing basis.

Green Tech Startups Austria

Since 2024, MPC² has been featured on the Green Tech Startups Austria landscape, a curated overview of innovative technology companies focused on environmental and climate solutions.

The initiative highlights the dynamics of the Austrian green-tech ecosystem and supports networking between startups, industry and research institutions.
As part of this ecosystem, MPC² contributes its expertise in sustainable materials and corrosion assessment.

MPC² at Nitrogen & Syngas 2025 in Barcelona

MPC² participated in Nitrogen & Syngas 2025 in Barcelona, the leading international conference and exhibition for the fertilizer industry in Europe and Africa.

The event brought together licensors, plant operators (end users) and manufacturers of critical process equipment from the ammonia, urea and syngas industries.
Key topics included materials performance, corrosion mechanisms, plant reliability and sustainable testing concepts.

As part of its technical contribution, MPC² presented the combined use of Corrosion Ray®, EC-Pen and portable metallography and microscopy.
These methods enabled a fast, reliable and resource-efficient assessment of corrosion-critical components directly on site, without the need for sample extraction.

Particular attention was given to the DL-EPR method, which demonstrated a strong correlation with conventional immersion tests (e.g. Streicher test), while significantly reducing testing time, energy consumption and chemical usage.
